Chicago, IL, United States The 15th World of Deaf Magicians Festival
We are pleased to announce The 15th World of Deaf Magicians Festival will convene in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. from October 26th through November 2nd, 2014. This Festival is managed by the Festival Organizing Committee with the support of the U.S. Deaf Magicians Society, and with the full cooperation of the Society of World Deaf Magicians.
The Society's mission is to bring all deaf young and adult magicians -- amateur and part-time professional -- to participate in the international festivals for many valuable purpose -- camaraderie, exchange of ideas and improvements in their performance skills; solving technical problems; participating in competitions; attending magic lectures with interpreters provided to learn new tricks or improve their skills; learning where to purchase magic apparatuses or props; and promoting their magic shows available to other national deaf clubs and associations in different countries. There are at least 300 deaf amateur and part-time professional magicians around the world. They have their lifetime goal of entertaining their magic performances to deaf and hearing children and adults in their hometown, state, province or country.
All Festival participants and officials will stay at the Hotel Chicago/Schaumburg in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. They should plan to arrive on Sunday, October 26th, 2014 and depart on Sunday, November 2nd, 2014. The Festival organizers will have no responsibility for anyone arriving before or after those dates.
